Unlocking the new Samsung A797 Flight
The Samsung A797 Flight is one of Samsung’s newest GSM phones to hit the market. Unlocking the Samsung A797 luckily should be just as easy as many other SIM based phones offered by Samsung. I have listed some instructions below that should help you unlock your Samsung A797 Flight if you are looking to use it with a different phone carrier then you purchased it with. Before you can unlock your Samsung Flight you will need an unlock code. You can try reading my previous article on how to get free Samsung unlock codes if you are interested. Otherwise, you should try and contact your phone carrier or consult a professional unlocking website for more help.
Once you have an unlock code for your Samsung A797 Flight you are ready to use the instructions provided below. It is important to note that entering in multiple incorrect unlock codes could permanently lock your new phone. Here are the instructions:
Unlock Samsung A797 Flight
1. Turn on your Samsung mobile phone without the SIM card in.
2. Type #7465625*638*
3. Now enter your 8-digit unlock code
4. Type #
5. If worked, phone should say “Network Lock Deactivated”
6. Your Samsung phone may automatically reboot at this point.

Says needs a 8 digit unlocking code, where and how do I get the unlocking code from. I have a Samsung A797 Flight Cell Phone. T and T says will not honor my request because using it without a contract and did not get it from them, claims I need to be on a contract for 6 months before can give me a unlock code. I have a Samsung flight phone, I was given the following to unlock
1- Power off device and remove the SIM card.
2- Power on the handset.
3- Enter: # 0 1 1 1 * unlock code #.
(I typed in #0111*code number given#
Am I suppose to type it in where would make a call and hit dial or something to enter the information,or would I enter the unlocking numbers somewhere else)
The phone cycles off/on and is ready to go on once again. (nothing happened other than sos calls only

Finally was able to get it unlocked by AT&T #0111* which was originally given did not work, wanted to be super careful typed in the correct number (from this website) #7465625*638*UNLOCK CODE# Be aware be super careful because 638 comes out as _ _ _ and so does the unlock code come out as _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ so make certain type in the correct unlock code. AT@T had given me the unlocking information and went over step by step. I had purchased my phone on line from a non AT&T I tested the phone right afterwards with a T-Mobile sim card which have as a prepaid and works. Now all need to do is get rid of the AT&T Screen on my just unlocked cell phone. Its crazy how some places charge $3.00 to $30.00 to unlock a cell phone when is very easy to do yourself if have the correct codes. Plus never know where credit card information ends up going to as have to be so darn careful.

Hey Leslie, great job! Im sorry I couldnt respond to you earlier. But yes on some phones the unlock code will come out as blanks for privacy or some other matter. I’m glad you were able to get a free unlock code for your phone.

No, each unlock code is unique to that phone and is generated from the IMEI number on your Samsung Flight.
Ok. And how can I generate this number from the IMEI?

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any current unlock code generators that work with the Samsung Flight, however, if your phone carrier is AT&T, they shouldn’t have a problem providing one for you, if you have had service for at least 3 months. Otherwise you may have to look to purchasing one from an online vendor.
