12345 is the default security code. you only get 5 attempts before the phone is hard locked. very few shops will unlock the n900 but the few that do charge 22bar, is there an alternative to using these shops? its on vodaphone in the uk and im on o2. thanks

Hai, Jonathan it gives a great hope to unlock my nokia n900, as i too was facing thee same difficulty in entering ‘W’ in the dial pad.
but you did not specify, out of the 3 options which I should opt,
and if i need to opt option 3., from where i can get the correct code.??
please any one who knows regarding this answer.
i am much disturbed, as i am not able to use my new nokia n900 phone.with telus network canada

You dont need to put in ++pw on nokia 900 ….1st goto settings ( spanner icon ) this comes up with personalisation, themes date and time etc.You need to click at the top of the page basicaly on the word settings… This gives 3 options…. 1. restore original settings…2. clear device….. 3. enter code to remove operators lock ….

Hi! Can somebody help me, i bought new n900 about 1 month ago, and today i tried to secure device (to enter lock code), but it’s saying that i entered incorrect code, but i didn’t write any code before. how i can make my lock code & change previous? It’s some bug from nokia? In new device there is lock code which nobody knows. Thank you

Hi guys, i have a big trouble with ma nokia n900: it cant accept the *# combination keys; for instance if u try to check out your IMEI using *#06#, it returns an incorrect number error. Beside, the camera doesnt work as well, it returns operation failed.
So i am so confused, i brought it almost every place that i knew bt in vain.
Assist me please

Well, it appears some Nokias are defo locked if they come form Euro countries other than UK. Like my one is proper locked, and no UK sim works. I am also wondering what is the way to enter W before the unlock code?

Admin: Whith all do respect, you wrote the whole article about how to unlock the Nokia N900, but failed to explain how to successfully enter the w. I dont know where you got the information from about unlocking this phone, but it seems invalid.

Would be very grateful if you did research on how to make this N900 writie w letter.
