Unlock Cingular PhoneUnlocking a Cingular phone is easier than you think. To unlock a Cingular phone you will first need a free unlock code, which Cingular normally has no problem doing. If Cingular specifically says in your contract that you cannot unlock your phone to another phone carrier then you may have to worry about some legal aspects of unlocking. Otherwise, you should begin by calling your Cingular support line and ask for a free unlock code. They will probably ask for your Cingular phone’s IMEI number in exchange for the unlock code. You can find your IMEI number on by typing in *#06#. You can find additional information from this guide on Unlocking a Cingular Mobile Phone.

Once you have your Cingular phone’s unlock code, you can get started. Also note, these steps may only work on some Here are the steps:

Unlock a Cingular phone

1. Power up your Cingular phone with your new unaccepted SIM card in.
2. Your phone should prompt for your unlock code.
3. Enter your unlock code.
4. Cingular phone may reboot and should be unlocked!

If the above steps do not work for you, you may have to look into paying to unlock your Cingular phone from one of the unlock code vendors I have provided below. Do not keep trying to unlock your phone if it does not work the first time, this could just permanently lock your Cingular phone.

How To Get An Unlock Code

Getting a free unlock code by requesting it from the carrier may not always work. Alternatively, I recomend trying to find your code by using an instant unlock site or service.
