November 28th, 2009

Unlocking Motorola PhoneThis guide shows how to unlock a Motorola phone for free without any unlocking software. Some Motorola phones require an unlock code but not all and there is a way around this on some Motorola phones as you will see in the video posted below. By unlocking your Motorola cell phone you will be able to use it on any phone carrier’s network, rather than being stuck with the provider you bought your cell phone from. By using the free instructions I have provided, you can beat out paying high prices for already unlocked phones in the store! Let’s get started.

You should try and get a free unlock code for your Motorola cell phone before anything. You can generally try and get a free one from your phone carrier by calling their support line and requesting one. In exchange they will ask for your Motorola’s IMEI number, which you can find simply by typing *#06# and hitting enter. Once you have acquired your unlocking code use the instructions below to unlock your cell phone:

Unlock Motorola Phones For Free

1. Reboot your phone with an unaccepted SIM card in.
*If the display reads “Enter Special Code”, enter the unlock code and press “OK”
*If the display does not read “Enter Special code”:
2. Press and hold the * key until an entry box is displayed.
3. Type *, #, 3, 2, # and press “OK”
4. Enter your Motorola unlock code and press “OK.”
5. Your Motorola phone should now display either “Completed” or
“Deleted”

If the above instructions do not work on your phone or if you are having trouble attaining a free unlock code for your Motorola phone do not despair! Try watching the below video and see if it works on your Motorola phone, as some phones can be unlocked without the unlock code, but using the security code instead. Since all Motorola phones by default have a security code of 00000000, you may not need the unlock code. Here is the video:
