Since the Nokia E73 is most likely going to be a GSM or SIM based phone, the Nokia unlock instruction provided in this phone guide should help you unlock the E73 yourself. This often beats out having to pay for a pre unlocked version of the cell phone or any other phone for that matter. It is cheaper, however, you will need to get yourself an unlock code before you can do so. You can often get these from your current phone carrier or from an online vendor for a cheap price. Here are the instructions:
Unlock Nokia E73 using Unlock Code:
1. Type #PW+Unlock_Code+1 (Where Unlock_Code is your 8-digit Nokia unlock code)
4. Now verify your Nokia unlock code was typed correctly
3. Finish by typing #
4. If worked phone should say “SIM Restriction Off”
Obviously, the Nokia E73 is not quite out yet and is more of a rumor, since it has not been officially announced by Nokia, but the steps above usually work on most GSM Nokia phones.
Getting An Unlock Code
If you are unable to get a free unlock code from your phone carrier, then check out this website that offers unlock codes for many different phone models at a low price.
Unlocking a Nokia 1661 from T-Mobile is easy and this unlock video shows you how. Each Nokia 1661 comes with a SIM lock by default that prevents you from using it with other, third-party phone networks. However, with the use of an unlock code you can remove this SIM lock from your Nokia 1661. Also note, that it is often much cheaper unlocking the phone yourself rather then paying for an unlocked Nokia 1661 from an online vendor. Even if you do need to pay for a cheap unlock code, you are probably still going to be better off.
