Unlock Nokia N900

November 18th, 2009

Unlocking Nokia N900Want to unlock a Nokia N900 for free? Unlocking a Nokia N900 is very similar to unlocking most other Nokia N-series phones and almost all SIM based mobile phones for that matter. The instructions I have provided in this article are based on the instructions in my How To Unlock A Nokia Phone guide and require you to have an unlock code before beginning. You can usually get a free unlock code by contacting your service provider or using some unlock software.

An unlock code is essentially used to deactivate the SIM lock that is put on most phones by default. Once you have disabled the SIM lock on your N900 you will be able to use it on any phone carrier’s network and receive service from them. If this isn’t what you wanted or expected then unlocking is probably not for you. Furthermore, entering multiple incorrect unlock codes in a row can permanently lock up your phone! So make sure you have a working unlock code before begining the steps provided below. Otherwise you should consult a professional service or online vendor for unlocking your Nokia N900. Here are the steps to unlock your phone:

How To Unlock A Nokia N900

1. Power on your Nokia N900
2. Type #PW+UNLOCKCODE+1# (Where UNLOCKCODE is your Nokia N900’s unlock code)
3. Your N900 should say “SIM Restriction Off”

You should now have a fully unlocked Nokia N900. Overall the Nokia N900 is a very cool phone and compares to Apple’s iPhone well. If you still have questions or comments please leave them below.

Nokia N900 Specs And Release Date

July 4th, 2009

Nokia N900Welcome the newly confirmed Nokia N900. Since being rumored at the Open Source In Mobile conference last year, the Nokia N900 has received little attention untill now. In this post, I will cover the specs and release date of Nokia’s newest mobile phone. Additionally, on the bottom left of the post is a leaked image of the Nokia N900 that I found on engadget’s website earlier today.

The newer N900 is very similar to Nokia’s N97 and N810. Physically the N900 looks very similar in shape and design to the N97. Both have a nice 3.5 inch touchscreen and slide out QWERTY keyboard. However, the N900 has a much higher resolution, being 800×480 verses 360×640. Furthermore, the N900 will have an acceloerometer and is going to come in either 32GB or 48GB storage sizes. Below I have provided a list of the newly released specs on the N900.

Nokia N900 Release Date

Overall, the N900 looks to be a promising new smartphone that we are used to seeing from Nokia. As far as release dates go, Nokia recently announced that T-Mobile USA will release the N900 in August/September 2009 and T-Mobile International in July 2009.

Update: With the Nokia N900 now being released to the market, you can check out my latest unlock guide for this phone!
