Free LG Unlock Codes

July 12th, 2009

LG Unlock CodesLooking for Free LG Unlock Codes? Getting an unlock code for your LG mobile phone may be easier than you think. Many websites want you to pay for high priced unlock codes or instructions. The truth is most phone carriers such as T-Mobile and AT&T have no problem providing you with a free unlock code for your LG phone. All they require is your phone’s IMEI number. Checking a phone’s IMEI number was covered in my previous phone tutorial, but we will also cover it here.

How To Get A Free LG Unlock Code

1. Power on your LG phone and type *#06#
2. The first 15 digits displayed is your phone’s IMEI number.
3. Call your phone carrier’s support number.
4. Ask for an subsidy unlock code for your LG phone.
5. They will then ask for your IMEI number in exchange, and thats it!

Now you should have yourself a completely free LG unlock code. Again, why bother paying a high price for an unlock code or even instructions. You can find unlock guides for tons of mobile phones right here. If none of the steps above worked, then you may have to look into different types of SIM unlocking software.

T-Mobile Unlock Codes
Need the unlock code for your current T-Mobile phone? Thankfully, T-Mobile is one of the few phone carriers that freely gives out your phone’s unlock code, as long as you meet a few requirements. Below I have posted some of the requirements you must meet, before T-Mobile will issue you the unlock code. Then once you get your unlock code, you can begin unlocking your phone!

T-Mobile Unlock Code Requirements

1. The account must have been active for 90 days (unless customer paid full retail for the handset), and a refill on the account if the request is made by a prepaid customer. ** Please note that some prepaid customers have reported receiving an unlock request without adding a refill to their account.
2. You must have a T-Mobile phone number.
3. Only one unlock code will be issued per active line within a 90 day period.
4. IMEI number must be provided directly from the customers handset

The full list of requirements and information you’ll need for T-Mobile is located here. As long as you have everything met, you can go ahead and either email or call T-Mobile.
