A Sony Ericsson Vivaz unlocked will work on all GSM phone networks. Unlocking your Sony Ericsson Vivaz is often cheaper then buying a pre unlocked Vivaz however. Basically, all GSM or SIM based phones like the Sony Ericsson Vivaz come with a SIM lock when you get them. This SIM lock will prevent them from being used with third-party phone carriers, other then the one you purchased it from. The only catch is that you need an unlock code to do this yourself. Luckily, often time you can get a free unlock code by calling up your current phone carrier (if you can one) and request it. In exchange they will request your Sony Ericsson Vivaz’s IMEI number, which can be found by simply typing in *#06# on your phone and hitting enter. The fifteen digit code that is output on the display is your cell phone’s IMEI number. This can now be used to generate your mobile phone’s unlock code. Now you can go ahead and use the instructions that I have provided below to unlock your phone. Good luck!
How To Unlock Sony Ericsson Vivaz
1. Switch ON your phone without a SIM Card
2. Press left once
3. Press the * button twice
4. Press left once
5. The message Personalize with MNC2 will appear
6. You can now enter the Unlock Code
Note: The Vivaz is also known as the Sony Ericsson Kurara in case you are confused about the two Sony Ericsson models.
