Sony Ericsson Vivaz UnlockedA Sony Ericsson Vivaz unlocked will work on all GSM phone networks. Unlocking your Sony Ericsson Vivaz is often cheaper then buying a pre unlocked Vivaz however. Basically, all GSM or SIM based phones like the Sony Ericsson Vivaz come with a SIM lock when you get them. This SIM lock will prevent them from being used with third-party phone carriers, other then the one you purchased it from. The only catch is that you need an unlock code to do this yourself. Luckily, often time you can get a free unlock code by calling up your current phone carrier (if you can one) and request it. In exchange they will request your Sony Ericsson Vivaz’s IMEI number, which can be found by simply typing in *#06# on your phone and hitting enter. The fifteen digit code that is output on the display is your cell phone’s IMEI number. This can now be used to generate your mobile phone’s unlock code. Now you can go ahead and use the instructions that I have provided below to unlock your phone. Good luck!

How To Unlock Sony Ericsson Vivaz

1. Switch ON your phone without a SIM Card
2. Press left once
3. Press the * button twice
4. Press left once
5. The message Personalize with MNC2 will appear
6. You can now enter the Unlock Code

Note: The Vivaz is also known as the Sony Ericsson Kurara in case you are confused about the two Sony Ericsson models.

How To Get An Unlock Code

Getting a free unlock code by requesting it from the carrier may not always work. Alternatively, I recomend trying to find your code by using an instant unlock site or service.

  2. I have a Sony Ericsson Vivaz Locked to AT&T. All the unlock services i found online and the one provided in this page isn’t one available code for my phone. What can i do now?

  3. Have you tried calling up your current phone carrier for your Vivaz? If you don’t have one, then you may have to unlock your phone via some professional software or something.

  4. Hey Charlie. Yes The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro should be unlock able on Fido, considering Fido is a GSM or SIM card based carrier. Hope this helps. Good luck unlocking your phone!

  5. Hi Derek,
First, I’d like to thank you to publish this article.
Ok, I am on Fido carrier and did call them for a unlocking code which they didn’t provided, sure… as you mentioned above.
However, I want to unlock my SE Vivaz so I can use on my business trips to Brazil.
Down here, I can get a pre-paid SIN to work in most telecom companies.
The carriers already sells the device unlocked, since is a right granted by law now.
So, the sites you mentioned in your article will really work?
    Thanks, Marc

  6. Hi Marc, thanks for posting. Sometimes the phone carriers, such as Fido will not give out the unlock codes because they technically don’t have to, but some networks such as T-Mobile and AT&T are really nice about handing them out, since they have you in a contract, etc. I checked and I would recommended checking out Global Unlock to get an unlock code for your Vivaz, as the other website I normally recommend only support a handfull of SE phones (from AT&T). The unlock code vendor above will refund your money (as stated on their homepage) if you cannot get the unlock code to unlock your SE Vivaz. I hope this helps you and gets you headed in the right direction. Take care and good luck!
