Unlocking a Nokia N9 will require an unlock code. Additionally, the Nokia N9 unlocked should work with any GSM phone networks or carrier. Most GSM or SIM based cell phones come with a SIM lock which prevents them form working with unaccepted carriers. The unlock code should remove the SIM lock on your Nokia N9.
In order to get a Nokia N9 unlock code, I would first contact your phone carrier’s support line and request one. Sometimes they will give you one for free and in exchange will need your Nokia N9′s IMEI number. You can get this number simply by entering *#06# on your phone’s keypad and then pressing enter. If you cannot attain a free Nokia unlocking code, then you should review some of the unlock code websites I have provided below.

How To Unlock Nokia N9
1. Power ON your Nokia mobile phone without your SIM card.
2. Now type: #PW+CODE+1# (Where CODE is your Nokia unlock code)
3. Your phone should now show “SIM Restriction Off” and is unlocked.
Note: You must press the * key several times to get the characters for ‘P’ and ‘W’.
