The LG GS500 Cookie Plus unlocked will work on any phone carrier’s network that supports GSM phones. The LG GS500 Cookie Plus has not been released yet, but has a release date set for some time in March 2010. I suspect there will be unlocked versions of this phone as well as pre-locked versions that only work with one carrier. Before you go out and pre-order the Cookie Plus, you should know that you can usually unlock GSM phones yourself using an unlock code. This is usually quite nice, because paying for a pre-unlocked cell phone can cost a whole lot more then unlocking it yourself, even if you do have to pay for an LG unlock code.
Basically all you need to do is first attain an unlock code for your LG GS500 Cookie Plus. You can do this by calling up your phone carrier and requesting one or by purchasing one from an online vendor. 1. Power on your LG phone with the original SIM card in.
2. Enter 2945#*700#
3. A menu will pop up, select SIM Unlock.
4. Enter your unlock code and hit OK.
5. Your LG phone may automatically reboot.
