Hey Miguel, you will have to call up your phone carrier who can calculate the unlock code for you. Otherwise, you can try using some special HTC unlocking software that will do it. If you are unable to get an unlock code using those methods, you may have to pay for one from an online vendor. Sorry for the confusion and I hope this helps :)

Do I really have to have a sim card from a different carrier in order to unlock my HTC tilt 2? I got the code from at&t and tried to unlock it without sim card in it (powered if up without the sim card), but it didn’t seem to work, at least I wasn’t getting any message that said it was successfully unlocked.
I really appreciate any pointer anyone can provide.

Yes i faced the same problem it just says sim is missing and i am not able to unlock or it dint even rebooted. any help appreciated. I tried without any sim card on my phone.
hi. i previously unlocked my tilt 2, but i want to upgrade the ROM of the tilt 2. will i lose the unlock? or it is permanent once you had unlocked the phone?

Unlocking your HTC Tilt from AT&T purely removes the SIM lock on your phone and shouldn’t be related to your ROM. To unlock your ROM you will need top CID unlock your phone. Hope this helps and good luck fer!

Hey Shawn, I can’t find any software currently made to unlock the HTC Tilt 2. However, there is some older software on GSM-Europe forums and some other various websites to unlock older HTC models. Good luck and I hope this helps!
