Want to unlock your HTC HD2? Unfortunately, many cell phones these days, like the HD2 will come loaded with what is called a SIM lock. This is something that basically prevents you from using another carriers service or data plan to save money. An unlock code is required and fortunately is the only part of these free instructions that may cost you some money. It is possible to get a free unlock code for your HTC HD2 though. In fact, you can try calling up your mobile phone carrier’s support line and requesting one. Otherwise you can try searching Google for some HTC unlocking software or generators. Either way, you will need your HTC HD2′s IMEI number, which you can find for free by typing *#06# and hitting enter.

Hey Aaron. Your HTC HD2 should work with GSM or SIM based carriers in Europe when it is unlocked. Other then that, it should work normally unless there are some carrier dependent or country dependent features in place, which I do not belive there are. Some carriers work data plans and internet differently then others, so it is really hard to say for sure. I wish I could provide more information. Good luck!

i really love this unlocked phone. the touch screen is a little too large for me, but my kids love it. they steal it to play games all the time. my husband ended up getting the same phone after i got mine. this is a great phone and we haven’t had any problems with texting, calling, internet surfing, taking pictures, etc. i would recommending getting the hd2.

Another thing you can do to get the unlock code is contact T Mobile (if it is a T Mobile HD2).
I bought an HD2 from someone on CraigsList. It was locked. I called T Mobile. They said, for security reasons, the original owner needed to call with the IMEI number and the phone number the HD2 was used with (they have to still have a T Mobile account, and it may have to be with that phone number, I am not sure).
T Mobile will send them an email in 24 hours to 7 days with unlock instructions.
The person I bought my HD2 from was nice, and placed the call. He sent me a message that T Mobile would send him the unlock instructions (and code) and he would forward that to me.
Very nice, and free.
