Our how to guide on unlocking the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 is quick and simple to use. For those of you that don’t know, the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 has also been labeled the BlackBerry Dakota as well as the BlackBerry Magnum, which we wrote about a few months ago. Basically to cut the point, since the new Bold Touch 9900 is a GSM or SIM carded cell phone, it is possible to unlock it using an unlock code.

I would firstly recommend calling up your current cell phone carrier to see if they can provide you with a free unlock code. They would be the only ones that can to this for free, I cannot generate a code for you. Otherwise, you can try some of the unlock code vendors listed below or on Google. Once you have your unlock code, you can use the steps below to turn your Touch 9900 into a fully unlocked device.

1. Power on your device w/o the SIM card in.
2. Device will request your unlock code.
3. Enter unlock code using keypad.
4. Hit enter/send.
(5. Device may automatically reboot. This is normal).
