How To Unlock A Nokia Phone

Unlock Nokia SIM Unlocking a Nokia phone requires a Nokia unlock code and only a few steps. These free unlocking instructions will unlock almost any Nokia phone that is SIM based. To get an unlock code for your Nokia phone, you should first try contacting your phone carrier first. Ask them for an unlock code, in return they will request your Nokia’s IMEI number. My previous article will show you how to check your phone’s IMEI number. If you are unable to attain a Nokia unlock code from your phone carrier, there are also many other methods of getting free Nokia unlock codes.

Once you have acquired an unlock code for your Nokia phone you can use the instructions below to unlock your cell phone. These steps are very general and work on most Nokia phones, but may not work on all. Furthermore, these instructions are based on MobileSlate’s Unlocking Nokia Mobiles guide.

Warning: Entering 3 or more incorrect unlock codes may permanently lock your phone!

How To Unlock Nokia Phones

1. Power on your Nokia cell phone with an unaccepted SIM card in (or sometimes no SIM card at all works).
2. Type #PW+Unlock Code+1 (Where Unlock Code is your 8-digit Nokia unlock code)
3. Now verify your Nokia unlock code was typed correctly
4. Finish by typing #
5. If worked phone should say “SIM Restriction Off”

Note: In order to enter letters on your Nokia dial pad you will need to press the asterisk (*) key several times.

Now you should have yourself a fully unlocked Nokia phone. If you have a newer model Nokia you may need to follow a different set of steps. You can try searching this website for more phone unlocking tutorials. Otherwise, if you are still having trouble getting an unlock code then try using this Nokia Unlock Code Generator.

How To Get An Unlock Code

Getting a free unlock code by requesting it from the carrier may not always work. Alternatively, I recomend trying to find your code by using an instant unlock site or service.

@Edik, have you tried this Nokia unlock code calculator to see if they support your cell phone (nokia 1208 b). If they don’t then I would first suggest calling up T-Mobile, which you can read about in my T-Mobile guide. Otherwise, at the very least, you should be able to purcahse a cheap unlocking code for your Nokia phone from here. I hope at least one of these tips works for you Edik.
