How To Unlock Samsung I8520 Beam

March 10th, 2010

Samsung Beam UnlockedThe Samsung I8520 Beam can be unlocked with an unlock code. Buying an unlocked Samsung I8520 Beam can be expensive, but unlocking this Samsung cell phone yourself can often be cheaper, even after paying for an unlock code. You might be asking, so what is so beneficial about unlocking a Samsung Beam? Well primarily, it will allow you to use the mobile device with any GSM or SIM based phone carrier you want! That means you don’t have to get locked into an expensive voice plan with the company you don’t want. Instead you can unlock the phone yourself and then choose the phone carrier you really want to have your phone plan with. So let’s get started.

First off, as stated earlier you will need an unlock code to remove the SIM lock on a Samsung I8520 Beam. Sometimes you can call up your current phone carrier if you already have one, and request a free one. In exchange they will want your phones IMEI number, which you can find simply by typing *#06# and hitting enter. Otherwise, again, it may be worth it to just pay for one from an online vendor. Here are the instructions to start unlocking this phone.

Samsung I8520 Beam Unlock Instructions

1. Power on your Samsung phone without the SIM card in.
2. Type #7465625*638*CODE# (where CODE = your unlock code)
3. Phone will display “Network Lock Deactivated”
4. Your Samsung phone may auto reboot.

Note: The Samsung Beam is not actually released in the USA yet, but will be soon that these instructions should work as they do for most Samsung devices.
